You know them, you love them - It's your friendly neighborhood sandwich makers, Wax Paper!
OUR STORY
HI! We are Lauren and Peter Lemos. We met back in 2012 while working in a restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles. Peter, is a graduate of the California School of Culinary Arts, and Lauren, California State University Fullerton. Together, we share over 30 years of restaurant industry experience. In 2014, through our shared love of food and hospitality, we decided to take what we had learned and pursue our dream of opening our own restaurant. It was not an easy road, but we finally opened Wax Paper's doors in December of 2015. It has been an amazing ride since then, and we look forward to meeting new folks, as well as strengthening the friendships we have gained in life and business since opening Wax Paper & Wax Paper Chinatown, our second location. We are currently anticipating our launch of Lingua Franca, a full service sit-down restaurant, right here in Elysian Valley! It will feature a locally sourced-driven menu, with cuisine that embraces California and all of its magnificent bounty. Coming in late 2018-early 2019!

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Wax Paper evolved from our dream of opening a simple, but delicious neighborhood sandwich shop. It is a place of warmth, comfort, and creativity. Our menu features homemade sandwiches, salads, and sides with an array of beverages including fresh-brewed coffee & tea and real sodas. We are dedicated to respecting our Earth's resources, and we take every possible measure to uphold our responsibility toward our environment, as well as source-from and support other local small businesses. We pride ourselves in putting the health and happiness of our team first. Our main goal is to provide the community with a place where its members can eat, drink, relax, relate, and create...a place of happiness and the feeling
of being at home.
